Software for Home Services

HVAC, plumbing and electrical work is won on response time and lost on paperwork. We build the systems that fix both.

Operations

Operational problems to solve

Common situations to examine during discovery with the people who do the work.

  • The board falls apart by ten in the morning.

A schedule built on equal length slots ignores drive time, so the third call of the day is already late. Dispatch spends the morning reshuffling by phone.

  • Half the job sheets come back the next day.

Technicians write on paper because the app does not work in a basement, then the office rekeys it, then the invoice goes out a week late.

  • Nobody knows what is on the van.

A technician drives back for a part that was on another van. Stock exists as a guess, so parts are ordered twice and written off once.

  • We quote it, then never hear back and never chase.

Quotes sit in a folder. There is no follow up sequence, so the ones that would have closed quietly expire.

  • The maintenance agreements renew when someone remembers.

Recurring agreements need visit schedules and renewal tracking. When those live in separate notes, the office has no reliable queue of what is due next.

  • The third visit to the same unit starts from zero.

Equipment history lives in a technician memory. The next person on site has no record of the model, the previous fault or what was replaced.

Software capabilities

Connect the office, the van and the job

01

Dispatch against real constraints

Match an HVAC, plumbing or electrical job to a technician’s skills, service area and availability. Reserve travel time and parts collection before offering an arrival window. A reschedule should update the dispatch board, customer message and work order together.

02

Equipment history at the property

Attach model numbers, installation dates, photos and previous findings to the equipment record, not a technician’s inbox. Offline job notes need a visible upload queue and a conflict rule when the office edits the same job.

03

From field completion to invoice

Carry approved scope, labor entries and consumed parts into the completion record. Integrate FSM events with accounting and hosted payment links. Keep a return visit separate from a completed job so service history stays understandable.

Integration

Systems we connect to

Identify the system of record, available interfaces and vendor access before defining the integration scope.

Systems integrated in Home Services
FSM, field service managementThe scheduling, dispatch and job capture system the operation runs on. We build them and we integrate with the ones you already use.
Dispatch boardThe live view of technicians, jobs and travel. Useful when it enforces skill, certification and territory constraints rather than displaying them.
Accounting softwareInvoices and payment status flow back so the office is not reconciling two systems by hand.
Supplier cataloguesParts pricing and availability pulled in so quotes use current cost rather than last year list.
Payment processingCard on file, deposits and payment at the door through a processor, with the transaction attached to the job.
Mapping and travel timeRoute sequencing built from real drive times, which is the difference between a board that holds and one that does not.

Security and implementation

Access rules belong in the architecture.

Restrict access codes and property photos to assigned staff. Keep customer communication preferences separate from dispatch notes. Device revocation, bounded offline storage and an access log belong in the field application.

Security, confidentiality and IP ownership

Relevant technology choices

The final stack depends on existing systems, device requirements and data access.

FAQ

Home Services questions

Can technicians use it with no signal in a basement or crawl space?

Yes. The mobile app writes to local storage first, queues the work with client generated identifiers, and syncs when the connection returns. The technician sees what is still pending.

Will the schedule account for drive time between calls?

Yes. Routes are sequenced with travel estimates between addresses, and the board warns when a booking cannot be reached inside its window.

Can we keep our accounting software?

Yes, and you should. The system sends invoices and reads payment status so accounting stays the financial record.

Does it handle maintenance agreements?

Yes. Recurring plans with entitlements, automatic scheduling of the next visit, and renewal tracking, which is the work most often lost to memory.

Can customers book online without double booking us?

Yes. Online booking runs against the same availability and constraint checks the dispatcher sees, so a slot offered is a slot that exists.

What about equipment history at an address?

Equipment is recorded per site with model, serial and install date, and every visit attaches to it, so the next technician arrives informed.

Let’s talk about the system you need.

Tell us where the current process breaks down. We can map the workflow, examine the integration requirements and define a practical scope for the build.

  • A mutual NDA is signed before project details are shared.
  • Scope is fixed in writing before any build starts.
  • You own the source code, the IP and the documentation at delivery.
  • Support plans are available and tailored on a discovery or technical call.
