Framework

React Development

We build interface layers in React, keeping state where it belongs and rendering dense operational screens that stay responsive with real data volumes.

Usage

What we build with React

  1. Operational interfaces with large filtered tables and bulk actions
  2. Multi step forms with shared client and server validation
  3. Dashboards with interactive charts and drill down
  4. Scheduling and dispatch boards with drag interactions
  5. Embedded widgets that load inside another application
  6. Design system component libraries

Rationale

Why we choose it

  • Composition scales with the product

Interfaces built from small components stay changeable. The alternative, a screen that knows everything, becomes the reason a feature takes a fortnight.

  • The ecosystem is deep

Tables, charts, drag interaction and accessibility primitives are mature, which means less bespoke code in the places where bespoke code is most expensive.

  • Hiring and handover

You can find engineers who know it. That matters more than elegance when a system has to outlive the team that built it.

Practice

Architecture patterns we use

  • Server state separated from client state

Data from the server is cached with explicit invalidation. Client state covers only what the user is doing right now, which keeps a refresh from losing work.

  • Uncontrolled forms with schema validation

Forms read values on submit and validate with the same schema the server uses, which avoids a re render on every keystroke in a long form.

  • Virtualised long lists

Rows are rendered only for the visible window, with pagination and filtering pushed to the database rather than handled in the browser.

  • Accessible primitives first

Menus, dialogs and comboboxes are built on primitives with correct focus management and keyboard behaviour rather than reimplemented per screen.

Build with our React engineers

Tell us what you are building and what it has to connect to. We will come back with an approach, a scope and what it would take.

  • A mutual NDA is signed before project details are shared.
  • Scope is fixed in writing before any build starts.
  • You own the source code, the IP and the documentation at delivery.
  • Support plans are available and tailored on a discovery or technical call.
