The context

The business behind the brief

The community architecture was delivered as a product architecture and technical design engagement for a strength sports community platform.

The completed output covers a PostgreSQL schema, Sinclair, DOTS and Wilks scoring, personal record cards, and a delivery roadmap. It is not presented as a deployed community platform.

The challenge

What the system needed to solve

  • 01

Deliver a coherent PostgreSQL-based platform architecture for a strength sports community.

  • 02

Include Sinclair, DOTS and Wilks scoring alongside the design for PR cards.

  • 03

Provide a delivery roadmap as part of the completed technical design engagement.

The solution

From requirements to a technical design

Completed architecture and technical design engagement.

01

Design the data foundation

The PostgreSQL schema establishes the data foundation for the platform design. A sporting result needs enough context to be interpreted later, and the scoring and PR card designs connect to that foundation. The schema is part of the completed architecture deliverable.

02

Specify the scoring concerns

The design covers Sinclair, DOTS and Wilks scoring. These names refer to distinct scoring systems, so they should not be treated as interchangeable labels for one calculation. Formula selection, input context and versioning are important implementation considerations when carrying this architecture into a product.

03

Define personal record cards

PR cards are part of the platform architecture. A card brings a personal record into a shareable presentation. The meaningful design connection is between the stored sporting result and the information shown on the card, so presentation does not lose the context that makes the record understandable.

04

Sequence delivery

The delivery roadmap sequences the implementation work described by the technical design. The community architecture was delivered as a completed architecture and design engagement, not as a deployed community platform. The roadmap gives the implementation team a defined sequence from data and scoring foundations to community-facing features.

Technical implementation

Architecture and system boundaries

The completed technical design covers a PostgreSQL schema, strength-sport scoring with Sinclair, DOTS and Wilks, PR cards and a delivery roadmap. The schema and scoring responsibilities are architecture deliverables. This engagement is not presented as a deployed community platform.

Business impact

The delivered outcome

  • The product architecture and technical design were delivered
  • The engagement established a schema and scoring design
  • PR cards and a delivery roadmap are included in the design output

Let’s talk about the system you need.

Tell us where the current process breaks down. We can map the workflow, examine the integration requirements and define a practical scope for the build.

  • A mutual NDA is signed before project details are shared.
  • Scope is fixed in writing before any build starts.
  • You own the source code, the IP and the documentation at delivery.
  • Support plans are available and tailored on a discovery or technical call.
